What inspires you ?
People, their personalities are so rich and different from each other on the one hand and mine. Each person we interact with ultimately offers us the opportunity to discover other parts of ourselves. I try to put myself in their place, to understand them to perhaps also understand myself better.

Who are the people who constitute references for you in your profession?
I think of the man who directed me in West Side Story, Ivo Van Hove, and of the man who shares my life Wesley Taylor. They both lift me up in their own way and make me both a better artist but above all a better person.

What compliment would you like to hear or hear again in your profession?
I am more sensitive to compliments regarding my work as an actor than as a singer or model. My goal as an actor is to offer something sincere, unique, grounded, moving, something that comes from me and yet touches the humanity of the recipient.

the city or destination that inspires you or resembles you?
I immediately think of Costa Rica. I have been there several times and fell in love with this country which is inspiring at every moment. Perhaps this is due to what they call “pura vida” there, this joy that is everywhere in the air, or it is nature which touches the sublime between waterfalls and forests. Everything is simple, everything brings me back to the essential, to a form of soothing and yet joyful slowness. This country is an ode to life.

how would you define your way of being and living?
I navigate life with curiosity, it is my driving force. My curiosity leads me by the hand towards people and things, to discover new experiences. Ultimately, I am still searching, between curiosity and hope.

what was your biggest challenge?
I'm only 26 years old, I don't have a huge career behind me. My biggest challenge, what has made me grow the most, remains for the moment the musical West Side Story alongside Ivo Van Hove. I wanted to work with him for years, I knew that I would learn a lot about my acting by being at his side, that I would know more about what I can do, on the path still to be taken. I have matured and I can say that it has changed me in many ways.

do you have any rituals in your life or your job?
I systematically do breathing exercises before going on stage, if I don't do them, I know in advance that something will go wrong. And then I'm quite superstitious, for example we never (ever!) pronounce the word Macbeth in a theater, it brings bad luck to the play. One night of a performance a critic from the NY Times was supposed to come and someone blurted out the forbidden word. I had to put the whole team through a series of exercises to reverse the curse. I also sometimes find coins on the ground, when they are upside down - a sign of luck - I pick them up for a second before putting them back down so that someone else can find them after me.
“My curiosity leads me by the hand towards people and things, to discover new experiences. Ultimately, I am still searching, between curiosity and hope. »
the type of film or musical that annoys you?
Anything that lacks substance by disguising itself behind the spectacular, I see a lack of tact in the abuse of glitter, of empathy behind the extravagance. Art of any kind must move you even a little. Otherwise it simply lacks heart and even almost honesty. We must not waste people's time, it is too precious.

the place where we usually find you?
I live in New York now, on the Harlem side, I go down from my house by subway with my skateboard under my arm to Central Park, for a picnic and the pleasure of going back up to Harlem on a skateboard, because the The ride is just magnificent.

your favorite object? how much does he weigh ?
So I can't talk about my three frogs? Damage. I even took them with me to Carolina during confinement. At the risk of appearing techno-addict, I will answer: my phone, an iPhone 7 (138g). I much prefer honesty to taboo. I am not attached to it for the object but for what it represents. My phone is my gateway to others, to my memories, to information.

what has weight in your life?
The family, the one I chose as my blood family. Education, the desire to learn until the end, I am never happier than when I feel like I have broadened my intellectual field. Art, for its capacity to nourish me as well as to give. And finally nature which brings me back to myself.

your objects per gram, what are they? how do you wear them?
I have two bracelets, a 9g polished 925 silver cable and the 7g polished 925 silver ribbon bracelet. I wear them together sometimes but I also like to play with them depending on what I want to wear.

if le gramme was a film?
I immediately think of A Single Man by Tom Ford. Clean, precise, sublime.
“Art of any kind must move you even a little. Otherwise it simply lacks heart and even almost honesty. »
